Our Story
Founded in 2015 as a technology and community support organization — now leading the charge on AI access for the people who need it most.
Who We Are
Feed the Need Industries, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2015 with a simple premise: the people most often left out of new technology are the people who'd benefit from it the most.
A decade in, that premise has only sharpened — and the technology in question is now AI. Today we operate at the intersection of community service and applied AI, delivering AI literacy programs, nonprofit technical support, and technology access entirely online, alongside the community platforms we've helped launch for women of color living with MS.
Why AI, and Why Now
Generative AI is changing what it means to be employable, to start a business, and to run a nonprofit. The risk for our community is the same risk we've watched play out with every prior wave of technology: the people with capital and connections move first, the gap widens, and by the time tools become "accessible," the head start is permanent.
We're making AI accessible — nonprofit by nonprofit, and now, community by community through platforms like MSThrive,BlackMS Collective, scholarships.
What We Believe
Our job isn't to hand things out. It's to put tools and skills in people's hands so they can build for themselves.
Big organizations will always have budgets for AI consultants. Small nonprofits and underserved residents shouldn't have to wait.
We go where the need is. As a virtual organization, we meet communities where they are — online, accessible, without geographic limits.
We teach AI alongside its limits — privacy, bias, hallucinations, and where humans must stay in the loop, especially in care contexts like AI Care Conceirge.
How We Got Here
Feed the Need Industries is born as a community feeding and technology-donation effort serving underserved communities.
Career-readiness programming and new community technology programs added.
Provided laptops and tech instruction to schools in Nicaragua through the JA Nicaragua mission.
We helped MS Thrive start its 501(c)(3) designation — now an independent partner serving women of color with MS.
Dedicated AI literacy programming and a free "AI for Nonprofits" advisory service launch — the new through-line for everything we do.
Development begins on an AI-powered care and support platform for the BlackMS Experience community, now 9,000+ members, co-originated with the National MS Society.
